They offer rather linear service packages; typically focused on some immediate client objective. Over any 5-to-10 year period, such clients will require periodic and typically integrated assistance on matters related to Growth Strategy, Business Acquisitions, Company Capitalization, Business Governance, Value Monitoring, Shareholder Liquidity and Generational Stewardship. We refer to these as the Seven Critical Practices as they are the ones that most impact a company’s ability to create shareholder value on a sustainable basis.

During the next 15 years, as roughly 83% of middle market companies will pass through what we refer to as the Transition Wave, we believe that it will become even more critical to be able to deliver integrated advisory services to such clients.

Since 1982, HeadwatersSC has perfected the process and tools to support the integrated delivery of the Seven Critical Practices for the benefit of our clients. This has also enabled us to structure longer-term compensation arrangements, which enable our professional staff members to receive a portion of their compensation, based upon the long-term value creation or realization objectives of our clients.
