Headwaters MB, a Denver, Colo.-based middle-market investment bank hired Andrew Paff, the former president and chief executive officer of Cedar Point Communications, as a managing director of the firm.
He will join the firm’s telecommunication practice, and will focus on IP media subsystem telecommunication technology.
In addition to the firm’s Denver headquarters, Headwaters MB has locations in Atlanta, Ga. and Irvine, Calif. Paff is relocating to Denver for the position and will work out of the firm’s Denver office.
David Maney, co-founder and chairman of Headwaters MB, said, “[Paff’s] strength complements our existing telecom practice beautifully and will help Headwaters deliver exceptional advice to our middle market clients.”
The firm has identified strong opportunities in the IP media subsystem telecommunication space, and Paff, who is “a ruthlessly smart guy” will help Headwaters “get smart real fast” in the sub-sector, according to Brendan Burke, the firm’s director of marketing.
In 2007, Cedar Point Communications was recognized by Inc. magazine as the second-fastest growing private company and the fastest growing private telecommunications company in the United States.
Headwaters MB’s unique website design has gained significant attention with caricatures of the firm’s executives created by cartoonist Jack Unruh and rock songs written and performed by Maney, including “Sarbanes-Oxley Blues” and “A Prayer For Ben Bernanke.”
The firm has completed $4 billion in transactions over the past three years, according to the company website.
